Vanessa Stewart joins the Blue Zones Project Hawaii team as Community Engagement Lead for Koolaupoko. With more than 10 years of experience in broadcast media and public relations covering impactful stories that affect our community, Vanessa has a gift of bringing people together in her work of inspiring community members to support Blue Zones Project. Although, it is a challenging task to engage a diverse community, she feels privileged to share the Blue Zones research with a community she truly loves. Prior to joining the Blue Zones Project team, Vanessa was a Communications Project Manager at a public relations and marketing firm. She also worked at KHON-TV, as a Weekend Reporter and Digital Content Producer. Known for her positive attitude and “Go get ‘um” personality Vanessa has covered stories from First Lady Michelle Obama’s spouses’ luncheon at Kualoa Ranch to riding through the eye of a hurricane in a C-130 military aircraft. She has always had a passion for making a difference in her community and Blue Zones Project gives her that opportunity. She is married, with three children and currently resides in Kahaluu where she was born and raised.
