Peggy Mierzwa has worked to strengthen her community over the course of her career.  She holds her Master’s Degree in Education, and served a high school teacher. She worked with teenagers in public schools on the mainland and in Hawaii.  She served 8 years at the Hawaii State Legislature, most recently as full time staff for Senator R. Baker, Chair of the Health, Commerce and Consumer Protection Committee.  
Peggy has a strong commitment to improving the life and health of all of Hawaii’s people.  As the Statewide Policy Lead for Blue Zones she will focus on working with the statewide communities to ensure that they are able to successfully pursue and implement the policies that will sustain health and happiness to their community projects.  
Peggy serves on the board of the Windward YMCA, supports a variety of local organizations, runs and practices yoga, and strives to instill healthy and happy habits into the lives of her three children.
